While it is a good horror movie for its time, it is worth noting that the producers changed enough material for Matheson to disavow any involvement; his name does not appear in the credits. Watch this and campare it to "The Omega Man," and later still to the Will Smith version, "I Am Legend" and judge for yourself. This was the first, followed by Omega Man, then last year there were TWO adaptions....one titled "I Am Omega", and the Will Smith movie (which was actually very, very good....much better than I thought it would be). Everything just seems so right about this adaption....the Heston version stinks (never understood why it's so popular).
